Protests against the Brussels agreement turned violent and led Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel to propose his resignation. Germany: There was resistance in the German parliament, led by the alternative for Germany.  Merkel`s CDU lamented that the pact makes no difference between economic migrants and refugees.   However, on 29 November, Parliament voted for the pact by 372 votes to 153. Latvia: On 6 December 2018, the Latvian parliament voted to reject the pact.  Denmark: On November 27, Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said he supported the deal, but that his government would form a coalition of European countries to create an opt-out.  At the same protest, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that « myths » surrounded the deal. .
