Us Sudan Agreement

The ministry said the agreement signed Friday at the U.S. State Department should settle all complaints against Sudan in U.S. courts, including those related to the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. The agreement would enter into force after the U.S. Congress passed the laws necessary to implement the agreement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the deal was a « spectacular breakthrough for peace » and the beginning of a « new era. » Sudanese and U.S. officials signed a long-awaited claims agreement in Washington on Friday, including compensation to Sudan for victims of the bombings of al-Qaeda`s embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. This historic agreement is proof of the courageous and visionary approach of the four leaders.
